Student answer (Band 4.5)
I strongly believe that because of is in international travel instead of various kinds of mass media have made it more possible to understand how other people live in different countries.
The use of mass media has increased over the past few years.
It provides access to multiple source of information, which makes it easier for a person to sit at home and understand various cultures, various living patterns.
It is also observed that people love to travel across the globe to visit various places and understand the area which also plays a huge role and understanding the community which stays there, and this all possible as the countries have opened their gates for foreign travellers

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response severely fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, containing only 116 words. As a result, the discussion of whether the advantages of international travel and mass media outweigh the disadvantages is extremely limited and under-developed. The writer touches upon understanding other cultures through media and travel, but fails to present a balanced argument weighing advantages against disadvantages or to develop a fully articulated position. This severely restricts the task response, leading to a low band score in this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text is broken into short, disconnected paragraphs that lack adequate logical progression and overall coherence. While there is a basic attempt to structure the writing with an introduction and brief body paragraphs, the cohesive devices are rudimentary and repetitive. Sentences like 'It provides access to multiple source of information...' and 'It is also observed that...' function as mechanical transitions rather than natural links. Furthermore, the paragraphing is underdeveloped due to the brevity of the text, preventing any sustained flow of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently hindered by word choice errors and awkward phrasing. For instance, the opening phrase 'because of is in international travel' contains a significant structural and lexical error. Other vocabulary choices such as 'multiple source of information' (plural error) and 'living patterns' show a limited range and inadequate control over collocation and precision. While the writer attempts some less common terms like 'mass media' and 'foreign travellers', the overall lexical resource is restricted and barely adequate for the task.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The grammatical range is extremely limited, relying heavily on simple or poorly constructed complex sentences. There are frequent grammatical errors that impede comprehension, notably the opening sentence: 'I strongly believe that because of is in international travel instead of various kinds of mass media have made it more possible...', which is grammatically incoherent. Additionally, there are agreement errors such as 'multiple source' instead of 'sources', and run-on structures like '...plays a huge role and understanding the community which stays there, and this all possible as the countries have opened their gates...'.
