Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages and disadvantages of international travel and mass media, attempting to take a clear position that the advantages far outweigh the drawbacks. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times confusing. For instance, the discussion wanders into the role of scientists, artificial intelligence, and mobile phones, which shifts the focus away from the core topic of cultural awareness and lifestyle sharing. The arguments regarding disadvantages are underdeveloped, relying on a vague example about clothing in religious places. Furthermore, the personal interjection regarding being a Civil Engineer and future Researcher does not add relevant support to the prompt. Because the core parts of the task are addressed but remain under-developed and lack sharp focus, the response aligns best with Band 5.0 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response features basic paragraphing, separating the introduction, body points, and conclusion. However, the overall progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and abrupt transitions. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' are used, but their mechanical application does not always establish a clear logical connection between sentences. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as when pronouns like 'these' or 'it' lack precise antecedents. The internal flow within paragraphs is hindered by run-on structures and unclear clauses. Consequently, the organization shows some structure, but overall progression is weak, fitting the Band 5.0 criteria.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, with frequent inaccuracies in word choice and collocation that occasionally impede communication. Examples include phrases like 'the access of travel abroad', 'the widespread of various types', and 'traditional food' misspelled as 'traditionl food'. The writer attempts less common vocabulary such as 'resilient effort', 'artificial intelligence', and 'civil engineer', but these are often used inaccurately or inappropriately within the context of the sentence. Spelling and word-formation errors occur throughout the text, placing the lexical range firmly at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writing displays a very limited range of structures, with frequent grammatical errors that often cause difficulty for the reader. There are numerous run-on sentences and comma splices, such as '...lifestyle while, it has several advantages...' and '...Scientists invent mobile phones and internet are the biggest achievement...'. Complex sentence attempts are frequently faulty, marred by missing prepositions, incorrect verb forms ('Scientists invent' instead of 'invented' or 'inventing'), and subject-verb agreement issues ('advantage are far high'). Punctuation is weak, further hindering readability. These persistent, intrusive errors reflect the Band 5.0 descriptor level.
