Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is severely under length, containing only 142 words compared to the required 250 words. This significantly impacts task achievement as the ideas cannot be fully developed. Although the student attempts to present arguments, the response ends abruptly in the middle of a sentence ("while stereotypes"), leaving the main prompt regarding the advantages and disadvantages largely unaddressed. The position is unclear and underdeveloped. Based on these limitations, the task achievement is awarded a band score of 4.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The text suffers from a lack of clear overall progression due to its incomplete nature and fragmented paragraphs. While the student attempts to use transition markers such as 'To initiate with', 'Furthermore', and 'The second reason', the paragraphing is broken and the essay terminates mid-thought. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, and the logical organisation breaks down completely in the final incomplete sentence. This corresponds to a band score of 4.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is basic and contains several spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'industary' instead of 'industry', 'restorant', 'texi', 'groeth', and 'turist'. While there is an attempt to use less common words like 'conservation' and 'multi-billion-dollar', the high frequency of spelling and morphological mistakes impedes communication. The limited and flawed vocabulary results in a band score of 4.5, rounded to 4.0 based on descriptor matching.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The student attempts some complex structures, but these are frequently faulty, such as in 'because hotel, restorant, texi drivers earn more foreign currency' and 'as economic growth is strongs'. There are multiple grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues, incorrect word forms, and missing verbs. Furthermore, the response contains incomplete sentences and ends abruptly. The high frequency of errors causes significant difficulty for the reader, placing the grammar at a band score of 4.0.
