Student answer (Band 5.5)

The ease of international travel and the spread of various kinds of mass media all over the world have made it more possible than ever for people to know how other people live in other countries. I totally agree of this concept because people can explore many different things like culture, history of any country, and rules and policy through international travel and different kinds of social media.

On the one hand, students can easily access at any educational institutions through international travel and internet. They can know about culture and laws of that country before gaining admisstion in any university. furthermore, bussiness oppertunities is increased through internet access and people can run their work without leaving thier home through the massive spread of social platforms. The convenience of international travel attracts the tourists and creates many job opportunities. As a result, country's economy increases and develops the society' s well being. For example, the UAE provide international travel and has a high speed internet so many tourists and bussinessmen prefer to Dubai. In this way, the UAE earns high income through that facilities.

On the other hand, the access of international travel and social media has some drawbacks like threats of war, hidden agencies can work in any country, and can spoile their culture. Many social platforms destroy young generation because youngester misused the availability of internet. Moreover, any country can attack of another country by tracing the location with the help of information which is given at the social apps.

At the sum up, the advantages of social platforms and access of international travel has more than the disadvantages. People can know about another nation's culture , traditions, laws, and history through social apps and their dramas ,movies , and shorts clips videos.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position and discussing both advantages and disadvantages, thereby fulfilling the prompt requirements. In the introduction, the writer states, 'I totally agree of this concept because people can explore many different things...' and goes on to outline economic and educational benefits on the one hand, and security or cultural drawbacks on the other. However, the development of ideas lacks depth and some arguments are slightly vague or far-fetched, such as the claim that 'hidden agencies can work in any country' and the assertion that location-sharing on apps leads directly to military attacks. While the main points are relevant, they tend to be listed rather than fully extended with robust reasoning or concrete personal evidence. Consequently, the performance aligns best with Band 6.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement and attempts clear paragraphing, separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Progression is visible, moving from travel and media benefits to drawbacks and a final summary. However, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or faulty. For instance, the transition 'At the sum up' is non-standard and incorrect. Reference words are occasionally unclear, and logical links between sentences can feel abrupt, as seen in the transition from educational access to business opportunities within the same paragraph. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion requires better signposting to guide the reader smoothly. These limitations place the response firmly in the Band 6 category.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'international travel', 'mass media', 'convenience', and 'economic well-being'. However, there are noticeable word-choice and collocation inaccuracies throughout the text. Examples include 'agree of this concept' instead of 'agree with', 'access at any educational institutions' rather than 'access any educational institution', 'gaining admisstion' with a spelling error, and 'spoile their culture'. Additionally, 'bussiness oppertunities' contains spelling mistakes. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main arguments, the frequent lexical errors and imprecise collocations prevent the response from achieving a higher score, making Band 5.5 a fair reflection of the lexical control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing conjunctions and relative clauses such as '...people can know how other people live in other countries' and '...the information which is given at the social apps.' However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and frequent errors occur in prepositions, article usage, and verb forms. Examples include 'bussiness oppertunities is increased' (agreement error), 'youngester misused' (tense/form error), and 'attack of another country' instead of 'attack another country'. Punctuation is also erratic in places. While communication is rarely impeded entirely, the accumulation of errors across complex structures prevents the grammar from reaching Band 6 standards, justifying a score of 5.0.
