Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of international travel and cultural exposure, which aligns with the task requirements. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on advantages largely restates the idea that people visit other countries to see rules and better lifestyles without providing deep elaboration or fully developed examples. The Pakistani student example in the second paragraph is underdeveloped. Furthermore, the conclusion fails to effectively summarise the main points, only offering brief and repetitive sentences. Because the response covers all parts of the prompt but lacks adequate extension and depth in its arguments, it aligns closely with the Band 5 descriptor.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is organised into basic paragraphs with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression of ideas is hindered by repetitive phrasing and weak logical links. Cohesive devices are either missing, inadequate, or used inaccurately, such as the awkward transition 'To begin with, the main advantage the people go to the other countries for diffrent passions.' Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas is disjointed, particularly in the body paragraphs where sentences jump abruptly between studying abroad, observing rules, and visiting Japan. Referencing and pronoun usage are frequently unclear, making the flow difficult for the reader to follow. These features reflect the characteristics of a Band 5 performance.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used throughout the essay is basic, repetitive, and restricted in range. The student relies heavily on simple words and phrases such as 'different countries', 'better lifestyle', and 'people see'. There are numerous word-choice and spelling errors that stem from a lack of precision, including 'convinence' instead of convenience, 'differnt' instead of different, and 'encorage' instead of encourage. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey a basic meaning about travel and culture, the noticeable errors and lack of less common lexical items prevent the response from achieving a higher band score, placing it squarely at Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mostly of simple and attempted complex sentences that contain frequent foundational errors. Examples of inaccurate structures include 'At present, lot of people move on other countries much easier', 'Students are go for the studying abroad', and 'due to this reason the pollution is increase day by day'. Subject-verb agreement errors, missing articles, and incorrect prepositions are pervasive throughout the text. Complex structures, when attempted, are frequently faulty and cause strain for the reader. Because frequent grammatical errors impede smooth comprehension and the range of structures is narrow, this response meets the criteria for Band 4.5, which rounds to Band 5 in standard reporting, though evaluated strictly at Band 4.0 for persistent accuracy issues. Let us award Band 4.0 given the density of basic structural breakdowns.
