Student answer (Band 5.0)

In contemporay society, the topic of international travel is highly under debate and the spread of various kind of information over media of aoo over the word make it more convinient for people to know about the culture of other countries as well.I stongly agree with this as it have advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages.

On first hand, the ease of travelling and spread of various kind mass media is helping people to study the cultures of other countries without paying or moving to other countries as well. For instence if any person move abroad for study purpose, can share vibes by using social media and most of people can enjoy without going there.Similary people of other countries can adopt positive aspects of other culture.

On second hand there are also few drawbacks of international travel and spread of various meterial over social media as people just grab fashion and stereotype, for instence if people move to other's country and can check the hospitability and find the can find them stereotypes wrong like in japan most of people thinks they are roude by social contents if anyone can travel there can find these points wrongs. So in my point of veiw the apportunity to international travel and spread of various kind of mass media can change the mind of people.

In my perpective, the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages. It is highly apritiated to travel internationall, Government should make is eassy to travel.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt partially, as the writer attempts to discuss both the advantages and disadvantages of international travel and mass media, and clearly states an overall position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. However, the ideas remain quite limited and under-developed, relying on repetitive assertions rather than well-supported arguments. Furthermore, the response falls slightly short of the minimum word requirement, containing 244 words instead of the required 250, which restricts the depth of the discussion. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to fully extend their ideas with clearer, more specific examples and ensure the full word count is met.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation evident in the essay, with attempts to divide the response into introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, and basic signposts like 'On first hand' and 'On second hand' are used. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression, and the logical flow is disrupted by mechanical and sometimes inaccurate use of cohesive devices. Paragraphing is also basic, and referencing can be unclear, making it occasionally difficult to follow the logical links between ideas. To improve coherence and cohesion, the writer should employ a wider and more accurate range of linking words and ensure that each paragraph builds logically upon the previous one without repetition.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey a basic message about travel and media. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling throughout the text, such as 'contemporay', 'convinient', 'instence', 'Similary', 'meterial', 'apritiated', and 'internationall'. These lexical shortcomings and spelling mistakes cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher score, the writer needs to expand their lexical range, demonstrate more precision in word choice, and eliminate basic spelling and word-formation errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer employs a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple constructions, while attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, such as in the opening sentence and the run-on clauses in the second paragraph. There are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, articles, and verb forms, including phrases like 'it have advantages of this development', 'if any person move abroad... can share', and 'most of people thinks'. These frequent grammatical errors and awkward structures can cause difficulty for the reader. To progress, the writer must demonstrate better control over complex sentence patterns and improve grammatical accuracy across basic and complex structures alike.
