Student answer (Band 5.0)
it is often argued that access of social media enable us to knowing about other countries is population and their living style by international travel.
while this message can have both advantages and disadvantages. i believe that the merits slightly outweigh the drawbacks.
The main advantage is that reducing air travel helps with the uses of internet which enable us to knowing about all the countries of the world and help us to knows about living style while social media gave us the basic information regarding envoirnment of the countries which is safe for us or not.
Another benefit is that it encourages the sustainable travel habits and increases awareness about climate change .therefore this shift in behavior plays a vital role in protecting the planet for future generations .
on the other hand one drawback is that tourism and airline industry may suffer due to reduced demand for flights .for example every person now a days uses the social media and have grate knowledge about every part of the world little amount of people which is not use the social media .and next drawback of its very heavy expenses required for international travel and its difficult to go any other country and stay there and must to learn the language to communicate with people and knowing about their living style .
in conclusion although there are some disadvantages such as international travel is very expensive its tough to afford .But the advantages of using the mass media makes us a very able person to have information about many things.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt only partially, fulfilling the requirement for a discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of international travel and mass media, but with limited and under-developed ideas. The student attempts to establish a position by stating that 'the merits slightly outweigh the drawbacks,' but this stance is not consistently or clearly maintained throughout the essay. The supporting arguments are often repetitive and lack sufficient elaboration or relevant examples. For instance, the discussion on how social media provides basic environmental information is underdeveloped and does not fully explain how this outweighs the drawbacks of tourism. To move to a higher level, the writer needs to present fully extended ideas with clear supporting evidence and maintain a well-developed position from start to finish.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays some organization, with basic paragraphing and attempts to divide the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression throughout the text, and the logical flow is frequently disrupted. Cohesive devices are often inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'and', 'on the other hand', and 'another benefit is' without smooth transitions between ideas. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the exact line of argument. For example, sentences like 'for example every person now a days uses the social media and have grate knowledge...' lack proper internal cohesion. To achieve a higher score, the writer must ensure logical relationships between sentences are clearly marked and that information is sequenced more coherently.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'sustainable travel habits' and 'climate change', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling, such as 'envoirnment', 'grate knowledge', and 'not use'. These errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader and impede smooth communication. Furthermore, there is significant repetition of basic words and phrases throughout the response, including 'living style', 'social media', and 'international travel'. To reach the next band, the writer needs to expand their lexical range, demonstrate greater precision in word choice and collocation, and reduce spelling and word-form errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex ones. Frequent grammatical errors are present throughout the text, including issues with verb forms, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions, such as 'access of social media enable us to knowing' and 'its difficult to go any other country'. Punctuation is also poorly handled, with run-on sentences and missing capitalization at the beginning of sentences. These frequent errors cause significant difficulty for the reader and obscure the intended meaning. To improve, the writer must focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses and agreement, and increasing the variety and accuracy of complex grammatical forms.
