Student answer (Band 6.0)

The comfort of international travel coupled with wide growth of media mass in the present age has made it possible for people to get knowledge of how the people live in other countries. There are certainly drawbacks and perks of this fact but the later clearly outweigh the former. The essay outlines the arguments to prove this point.

A potential disadvantage is firstly people may adopt foreign cultural practices which are incompatible with their social environment.Furthermore, the growing number of international visitors can put considerable amount of pressure on popular tourist destinations requiring local authorities to provide additional accomodation and infrastructure. Adding to this, it has been observed that outsiders often welcomed by local residents because it creates a discomfort for them when people start recording them or places they visit. Although these are some proven obstacles but they can be solved by proper strategies.

Looking at the other side, international travel has opened far more opportunities than could be possible. Now they can gain an exposure of other countries` cultures and norms without any hurdle. Also sharing these information through mass media has made it possible to remotely observe how other cultures look like. Formerly, individuals notion about other cultures was mainly based on steretypes and prejudice rather than actual facts. The travel has brought this solution to see actually how they look in reality than in stories.Folks often adopt solutions of common problems they find in visited cultures in their way of living. It has led to an event to exchange ideas, customs and rituals among individuals of different geographical locations.

It benefits are not only limited to a way of attaining cultutral knowledge of different nations.Despite it uses are far more than that. International students, for example are studying different educational coureses thanks to these travels. They can obtain the data of their interested courses through media. The result is the development of educational platforms and environmental solutions. So your interest can be anything, if you do not find a study program that aligns with your interest in your area just make an international travel. Every little detail is available online which travel destiny or study prohram would suite your intention.Travels has increases business and employement opportunities as more restaurants are to be established and increases staff is needed to certain the visitors.

In conclusion,we can easily state that intervational travel ease and wide media mass does have some problems but the perks are far more greater in numbers. The media entertains those who can not afford a foreign trip as well.It is just a free source of foreign life and their culture. Due to this reason, no one is unaware of global traditions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, establishing a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Relevant ideas are presented, such as cultural exchange, educational opportunities, and the drawbacks of cultural incompatibility and tourism pressure. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For instance, the paragraph detailing educational courses and environmental solutions shifts abruptly and remains somewhat disjointed in its support. To reach a higher level, every main idea needs to be fully extended and supported with consistent depth throughout the discussion, avoiding superficial leaps in reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance and logical paragraphing. The progression of ideas is generally understandable, moving from drawbacks to advantages and concluding with a summary. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in transitions like 'Adding to this' and 'Despite it uses are far more than that', which sound unnatural and interrupt the flow. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun shift in 'Now they can gain an exposure'. To improve, the writer should ensure that cohesive devices are used more naturally and that links between sentences are smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully conveying the writer's intended meaning despite noticeable inaccuracies. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'incompatible', 'stereotypes', and 'geographical locations', but struggles with word choice, word form, and collocation. Examples of lexical errors include 'media mass' instead of 'mass media', 'accomodation' with a spelling error, 'cultutral' spelling error, 'coureses', and awkward phrases like 'increase staff is needed to certain the visitors'. These errors do not impede communication, but they reflect a lower band limitation. Expanding lexical control and practicing correct word forms and spelling will elevate this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures. There are some errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text, but they rarely impede communication. Examples include punctuation errors like 'Furthermore, the growing', missing articles as in 'travel has brought this solution to see actually how they look', and subject-verb agreement issues such as 'It benefits are not only limited' and 'Travels has increases'. Complex sentence attempts occasionally contain structural flaws. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to produce a greater proportion of error-free sentences and exercise tighter control over punctuation and subject-verb agreement.
