Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You take a position that the development has more advantages, and you give relevant points about students gaining wider perspectives, learning through media, and planning travel. However, the discussion is only partial: the disadvantages are not clearly identified or weighed against the benefits, and several claims—such as people disliking their own culture—are not explained or supported. The conclusion repeats the general benefit but does not resolve the comparison. The response contains 221 words, so it is 29 words below the required minimum; 35 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. To strengthen the response, explain one or two specific disadvantages, compare their impact with the benefits, and develop each point with a clear example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic essay shape, with an opening position, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can identify the broad topic of each section. However, progression within the body paragraphs is difficult to follow because several different points are joined without clear links. For example, the paragraph beginning “Presently” moves from attitudes to national culture to websites, misinformation and tourism hotspots. Connectives such as “On the one hand,” “Otherwise,” and “Moreover” do not always show the relationship between the ideas accurately. Some references, including “this” and “it,” are also unclear. Organise each paragraph around one main idea, then use linking phrases to show cause, contrast or example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “international travel,” “mass media,” “individual ability,” and “local lifestyle.” This gives the response enough topic-related language to communicate its general message. However, the range is limited and errors in spelling, word form and collocation are frequent enough to make some phrases difficult to understand, such as “forgein culture,” “broaden their horizon,” “unforgetable memory,” and “useless informations.” Some expressions are also unnatural, including “reality world” and “the realism fact.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than trying to use many ambitious phrases. Check spelling and whether nouns are countable, and choose precise terms such as “perspective,” “authentic information,” and “travel experiences.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You use some simple sentences and attempt more complex forms, for example “Through media spreading foreign culture and various habitat, which will broaden their horizon.” However, this construction is incomplete, and many sentences contain errors in verb forms, agreement, articles or sentence boundaries. Examples include “this development have,” “It provide,” and “made more possibility”; the opening also has a sentence fragment beginning “And I think.” Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, as in “On the one hand…; On the other hand,” and the run-on sequence “more quicker.So.” These frequent errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and tense before adding subordinate clauses.
