Student answer (Band 5.0)

International travel and mass meda technology has made it possible for people to know each other lifestyle. In my perspective the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages.

Admittedly, technology had eased the travelling for modern world. For instance:people working abroad can easily take a flight and within hours reached to their home land in case of emergency.Same is the case with mass media spread, through vedio or voice call, one can easily activate his energy by keeping in touch with their loved ones.In past people missed each other from miles but have no connection as a result depression and anxiety spreads but this new era has resolved this issue by providing technologies.

But on the other hand, spread of mass media destroyed our culture. For example:alogrithm of plateforms like tiktok and instagram connects people with different cultures and as a result their own culture start adopting other things. For example; holi is a festival celebrated in India, but due to it reels on media now many elite class community has started this in Pakistan. Moreover, international flights increases the risk of drug supply, terrorism and othe illegal actvities.

In conclusion,it is a double-edge sword, having some positive as well as negative impact on human lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a clear overall view—“the advantages … outweigh the disadvantages”—and discuss both benefits and drawbacks, including easier contact with family, cultural influence, and risks linked to international flights. However, the response is substantially under the required length: it contains 192 words, so it is 58 words short of the 250-word minimum; eight words copied from the prompt were not counted. This limits how fully you can explain and support your position. The advantages are mainly illustrated through travel for emergencies and calls to loved ones, while the disadvantages are asserted more than examined. Develop each main point with clearer reasoning and a specific, relevant example, and explain why the benefits outweigh the harms rather than concluding only that it is a “double-edge sword.”

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes abrupt, and the conclusion does not clearly resolve the comparison in the question. Connect each example explicitly to the point it supports, and use transitions that show the relationship between ideas rather than relying mainly on “For instance,” “But on the other hand,” and “Moreover.” Some references are also unclear, such as “this new era has resolved this issue,” where the issue and the technology could be specified more precisely. A more developed sequence of claim, explanation, and example would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “mass media,” “culture,” “depression and anxiety,” and “illegal activities,” and the reader can generally understand your intended points. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear or natural, such as “meda,” “vedio,” “alogrithm,” and “actvities.” Some phrases are also imprecise, including “activate his energy” and “spread of mass media destroyed our culture.” Aim for accurate collocations and more specific wording: for example, explain that media can “influence cultural practices” rather than saying it destroys culture. Proofreading spelling and choosing precise terms for the effects you describe would strengthen clarity and control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a conditional example beginning “in case of emergency” and a contrast introduced by “but on the other hand.” However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation occur frequently enough to affect fluency. For example, “technology had eased” does not fit the general present-time claim, while “international flights increases” has a subject–verb agreement error. Several sentences run together without appropriate spacing or punctuation, as in “lifestyle. In my perspective” and “For instance:people.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea each, then combine them using controlled subordinate clauses. Check tense consistency, singular/plural agreement, and sentence boundaries during revision.
