Student answer (Band 5.0)

The facility to travel abroad easily and the circulate of many types of mass media around the globe made it more achievable than before for individuals to know how other people spend their lives in other nations. I believe that this development have more advantages by helping economically and share knowledge. However, this development have some disadvantages because it disturbs mentally.

On the one hand, the most prominent advantage could be it boosts economy of the country. For travelling, people buy tickets for flight and for accomodation they booked hotels as a result it strongs the economy of the country as a whole. Moreover, news about media also encourage people to travel internationally. People who are crave to explore different cultures when they watch beautiful destinations of other countries they wish to travel these countries.

On the other hand one should always keep in mind the other side of the coin this development has benefits, but disadvantages as well. The most intensive one is people disturb mentally.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a clear overall view—“this development have more advantages”—and identify economic benefits and a possible mental disadvantage. However, the response addresses the question only partially: the advantages are discussed briefly, while the disadvantage is merely named in “people disturb mentally,” with no explanation or example. The economic point also focuses mainly on travel spending, rather than explaining how greater knowledge of life in other countries benefits people. The response is 83 words below the required minimum, which leaves too little space to develop and support the argument. To strengthen the essay, explain both sides with specific examples and show clearly why the advantages outweigh the disadvantages throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure: an introduction, an advantages paragraph beginning “On the one hand,” and a disadvantages paragraph beginning “On the other hand.” These markers help readers recognise the two sides. However, there is little progression within the paragraphs, and the final paragraph ends abruptly without explaining its point or giving a conclusion. Some links are also awkward: “For travelling” does not clearly connect the travel costs to the economic claim, and “this development has benefits, but disadvantages as well” repeats the contrast rather than advancing the argument. Develop each paragraph around one main idea, connect supporting details explicitly, and add a concluding sentence that restates your judgement.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “mass media,” “economy,” “internationally,” and “different cultures,” so the reader can identify the subject of the essay. However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make ideas difficult to understand. For example, “the circulate of many types of mass media” and “people disturb mentally” do not express the intended meanings naturally; “strong[s] the economy” is also an unsuitable collocation. There are spelling errors such as “accomodation.” Build a more precise vocabulary for discussing cultural awareness and psychological effects, and check common word partnerships and spelling. The suggestions below offer more natural alternatives for key phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “Moreover” and a conditional-style clause about people watching destinations. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “this development have” should use a singular verb, while “they booked hotels” does not fit the present-tense general statement. The sentence beginning “People who are crave” is not grammatically complete as written. Practise forming clear subject–verb patterns and checking tense consistency, then use subordinate clauses only when their structure is secure. Accurate, complete sentences will make your argument easier to understand.
