Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a position that the benefits are greater, stating there are “numerous advantages and very few disadvantages,” and you discuss global connection and access to news alongside risks such as misinformation. These points are relevant, but the response only partially addresses the question: it focuses mainly on mass media and gives little attention to international travel or how people learn about life in other countries. The advantages are also asserted rather than clearly explained with specific examples, while the Pakistan–India example is brief and not developed. The conclusion says mass media is damaging society but does not clearly weigh this against the benefits. Develop both sides and explain explicitly why one outweighs the other.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from advantages to disadvantages and then a conclusion, so readers can identify the main sections. Some linking phrases, such as “in this way” and “In conclusion,” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the advantages paragraph moves from staying in touch to news, technology and neighbours without explaining how these points connect. Several ideas are repeated, particularly that people around the world are connected. The conclusion also introduces a broad claim rather than synthesising the comparison. Organise each paragraph around one main point, use clearer transitions between supporting details, and make references such as “it” unambiguous.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “mass media,” “false information,” “conflicts,” and “detrimental consequences.” This gives you a basic means of discussing both benefits and risks. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or awkward, which sometimes makes the meaning harder to follow: “more realistic” does not clearly express increased access, and “living like families socially” is unclear. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “expore,” “advanatges,” “conncted,” and “informartion.” Aim for precise topic-related phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, describe people as “connected across borders” and information as “widely accessible,” rather than relying on vague wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “before people…” and one explaining that misinformation can create conflict. However, control is inconsistent, and frequent errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement and articles sometimes make the reader work to understand your meaning. For example, “to get different information … become more realistic” lacks a clear grammatical subject and has incorrect agreement, while “it also damaging young generations” is missing an auxiliary verb. In “the mass media makes it more easier,” the comparative form is incorrectly constructed. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and verb forms before adding more complex clauses.
