Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, with the rapid development of technologies travelling to other international countries has become one of the widely discussed issues around the modern societies.. While this trend offers numerous advantages, it also presents several drawbacks. This essay will discuss both the advantages and disadvantages before concluding that the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.
To begin with, one significant advantage of this development is that it promotes cultural awareness and global understanding. This is because people can easily travel abroad or use digital platforms to learn about different traditions, lifestyles, and beliefs. As a result they become more open minded , and accept people with different backgrounds and respect thier beliefs and moral values. For example, international exchange programmes and travel experiences enable students to broaden their horizons and develop valuable communication skills and also learn new languages.. Another major benefit is the rapid spread of knowledge through social media, collaboration between educational institures and governments. This will help people stay connected and informed about the events.another prime benift is people can explore more about the world through digital connection.this will allow people to learn new languages and traditions which will help them develop mutual understanding and rational minds.
Despite these advantages, this development also has certain disadvantages. One major drawback is the Westernization.younger generation can adapt thier life style and languages.this will result in Local traditions disappearance and Loss of native languages.another major demerit is spread of false news and propoganda's.False information, unrealistic lifestyles, and biased content can influence people's opinions and negatively affect their mental well-being.Furthermore travelling a lot will result in more pollution and carbon emissions.
In conclusion, although international travel and mass media may create cultural and environmental challenges, I believe their advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. This is because they promote global understanding, improve access to knowledge, strengthen international cooperation, and create opportunities for education, business, and personal development.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your response addresses both sides of the question and gives a clear, consistent position: the advantages “far outweigh the disadvantages.” Relevant benefits include cultural awareness, learning, and international cooperation, while the drawbacks include Westernization, misinformation, and pollution. The examples of exchange programmes and travel experiences help support the discussion. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: for instance, the claims about social media, governments, and “rational minds” are not clearly connected to how international knowledge-sharing creates benefits. The disadvantages also receive less development than the advantages. To strengthen the response, explain the effects of each main point and use a specific example or evidence, while keeping the comparison between benefits and costs explicit throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion that restates your position. Signposting such as “To begin with,” “Despite these advantages,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the main stages. Within the benefits paragraph, however, several ideas are crowded together, and the repeated points about learning languages and traditions make the progression less clear. Some transitions are also abrupt, as in “another prime benift” and “another major demerit.” Organise each body paragraph around two clearly distinct points, develop them in sequence, and use referencing or linking phrases to show how each example supports the point. This would make cohesion more flexible and less dependent on basic signposts.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “cultural awareness,” “global understanding,” “biased content,” and “carbon emissions.” These phrases communicate the main ideas and show attempts to use less common language. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “travelling to other international countries,” “collaboration between educational institures and governments,” and “rational minds.” Spelling errors—including “thier,” “benift,” “propoganda's,” and “institures”—also reduce precision. Aim for natural, accurate combinations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe people as travelling “abroad,” and specify what collaboration achieves rather than leaving the relationship between institutions and the benefit unclear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “While this trend offers numerous advantages…” and a conditional result in “This will result in Local traditions disappearance.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical and punctuation errors remain. Examples include the missing comma after “As a result,” the run-on sequence “events.another prime,” and the incomplete construction “younger generation can adapt thier life style and languages.” There are also problems with articles, sentence boundaries, and capitalization, such as “The Westernization” and “Local traditions.” Review how to form complete sentences and punctuate them, and check article use and agreement. More accurate control of these structures would make your argument easier to read.
