Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both advantages and disadvantages and give a clear overall preference in the opening and conclusion: business opportunities are beneficial, but users should be careful about harm. The examples of businesses reaching customers through social media and online fraud are relevant to the topic. However, the response only partially answers whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages: it does not compare their relative importance in a developed way, and the business benefit is repeated without explaining its wider impact. The reference to China is also unclear, so it does not effectively support the claim. Develop each main point with a specific explanation and make the comparison explicit—for example, explain why the economic benefits are more significant than the privacy risks, or why the reverse is true.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two sides, and a conclusion. This helps readers identify the main topics, and transitions such as “For instance” and “In conclusion” signal examples and closure. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from business opportunities to customer numbers and then to China without clearly connecting the example to the claim. Some linking is mechanical or unclear, including “The people arguing in favor” and “The people arguing against,” which frame the essay as a debate rather than developing your own reasoning. Improve cohesion by using clear topic sentences, linking each example directly to its point, and avoiding abrupt or incomplete transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “international,” “business opportunities,” “privacy,” “cyberattacks,” and “online fraud,” so the reader can identify the subject of each paragraph. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or repetitive choices make parts difficult to understand. Phrases such as “access to masses,” “social media masses,” and “this feature” are vague, while “swear types of cyber threats” appears to be an unsuitable word choice. Spelling errors such as “makret,” “bussiness,” “vurnuable,” and “acess” are also frequent enough to distract. Build a more precise vocabulary for global communication and its effects, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons and examples, such as the sentence beginning “The people arguing in favor.” This shows an effort to connect ideas rather than relying entirely on short sentences. However, the range is limited, and complex attempts often contain errors that make meaning difficult to follow. For example, “has make it is ease” has problems with verb form and sentence construction, while “it provide people” and “This thing contribute” show subject–verb agreement errors. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “businesses. However” and the unfinished construction around “through social mediati their lifes.” Practise accurate clause structures, agreement, and punctuation before adding more complexity.
