Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the general topic and mention both possible benefits and drawbacks, but the response only minimally answers the central question: whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The introduction promises a discussion and conclusion, yet no clear overall position is given, and the final paragraph does not weigh the two sides. The benefits about amenities, groceries, neighbours, clubs and gyms are not clearly connected to international travel or mass media helping people understand life in other countries. The disadvantage that people cannot experience “natural life” is also difficult to interpret and is not explained. The China example refers to countryside videos but does not show what viewers learn or how this supports your judgement. State your position directly and develop relevant examples that compare the effects.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has separate paragraphs and uses basic signposts such as “Firstly,” “On the other hand,” and “For example,” so the reader can recognise an attempt to organise the discussion. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow: the first body paragraph shifts from luxurious living to community facilities and then to news coverage, without clearly linking these points to the task. The disadvantage paragraph is brief, and the China example that follows does not clearly support it. The final paragraph introduces another benefit rather than drawing the argument together. Some linking phrases, including “Additional,” are used awkwardly, and references such as “these” and “they” do not always make clear what they refer to. Organise around one focused advantage and disadvantage, then conclude with your judgement.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “social media platforms,” “lifestyles,” “amenities,” and “country side areas,” and the reader can generally identify the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations make ideas unclear, such as “the technology had been developed too much,” “special attraction,” and “lean on these works.” Spelling and word formation errors, including “mobike,” “socialmedia,” and “alloted,” also reduce accuracy. Some expressions are repeated or vague, particularly “various advantages” and “these types of nations.” Aim for precise vocabulary about cultural awareness, travel, media exposure, and local customs, and check spelling and natural word combinations. This would make your meaning easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “because” and one using “which,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms and agreement appear in phrases such as “the technology had been developed” and “these are captured,” while sentence construction is unclear in “these cannot examine the things which are gotten into there hands.” Articles and prepositions are also frequently missing or incorrectly used, as in “provide an detailed conclusion” and “accessed in limited countries.” Punctuation and spacing problems, especially missing spaces after commas and full stops, make sentence boundaries harder to follow. Practise building clear subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses carefully; proofread for articles, agreement, and punctuation.
