You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence. Write at least 250 words.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

internationial travel and spread of verious kind of all mass media:

Nowadays, it is easy to travel to other countries, and TV, films and the internet show us how people live all over the world. I think the good points of this are bigger than the bad points.

The main good point is that people understand each other better. When we meet people from other countries or watch programmes about them, we see that they are like us in many ways. This helps us stop believing wrong ideas about other groups. For example, many students who study abroad say that their opinion of the country changed after they lived there. We can also learn useful things from other countries. For instance, many schools in Europe now use teaching ideas from Finland. In addition, tourism gives jobs and money to many poor areas.

However, there are some bad points too. First, local cultures can slowly disappear. Young people in many countries wear the same clothes, listen to the same music and watch the same films. Because of this, old languages and traditions may be forgotten.

Second, the media does not always show the truth. Social media often shows rich and perfect lives, so some people feel sad about their own life. Third, too many tourists can harm places like beaches and old towns, and it can make life difficult for the people who live there.

Still, I believe we can reduce these problems. Governments can protect local traditions and limit tourist numbers in busy places. Schools can teach children to think carefully about what they see online and on TV.

in coulison we can say taht in travel all over the world we obsrev that

diffrent people attitude and i saw the attitude of all the people whos meet with me.

and is ay that travel is very diffuclet but expearenc will occure .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your main position is clear in the opening: you believe the benefits are greater than the drawbacks. You address both sides with relevant points, including improved understanding, learning from other countries, cultural loss, misleading media, and pressure from tourism. The examples about studying abroad and Finnish teaching methods help make the benefits more concrete. However, several points are asserted rather than explained, and the final paragraph shifts to personal travel difficulties such as tiredness and weather-related danger, which do not directly evaluate how people learn about life in other countries. The conclusion is also difficult to follow and does not clearly weigh the arguments. Develop the most important points with clearer explanations and finish by directly reaffirming why the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages, and an attempt at a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “For example,” “However,” “Second,” and “Still” help signal relationships between ideas. However, the final section beginning “in coulison” is disconnected from the earlier discussion and makes the overall progression unclear; it introduces travel fatigue and danger without linking them to the central comparison. The advantages and disadvantages paragraphs also list several points quickly, with limited development or transitions between them. Keep the conclusion focused on the essay question, and use clearer links to show how each example supports the point before moving to the next one.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate several relevant ideas, including “local cultures,” “traditions,” “tourism,” and “limit tourist numbers.” Phrases such as “understand each other better” and “show the truth” are straightforward and generally understandable. However, the range is limited and some wording is imprecise or unnatural, such as “the good points of this are bigger than the bad points” and “the chance of death with diffrent satitution.” Spelling errors are also noticeable, particularly in the heading and final paragraph, and they sometimes make the reader work to identify the intended meaning. Aim for more precise academic expressions and check spelling carefully; for example, describe tourism’s effects as benefits or costs rather than relying on repeated “good” and “bad” points.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You produce several clear simple sentences, such as “The media does not always show the truth,” and you attempt some longer structures using “when,” “because,” and “so.” This shows an effort to vary sentence forms. However, the range remains limited, and errors become frequent in the final paragraph, making parts difficult to understand: “in travel all over the world we obsrev that diffrent people attitude” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “travel is very diffuclet but expearenc will occure” has problems with sentence construction and verb forms. There are also issues with articles, agreement, and punctuation in places. Practise building accurate complex sentences around one main idea, and proofread each sentence to check that it has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
