IELTS Writing Task 2 question

The ease of international travel and the spread of various kinds of mass media all over the world have made it more possible than ever for people to know how other people live in other countries.

Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?

You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence. Write at least 250 words.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

Yes,I deeply agree that the ease of internatinal travel and spread of various kinds f mass media all over the world have made it more possible than ever for people to know howother people live in other countries.

Since there are two factors on the basis of which I have to support my answer I will explain and give my point of view one by one.

The two points I have to support are:

1.The ease of international travel

2. Spread of various kinds of mass media all over the world

1.If we look back into the past we will come to know that to travel abroad was once a dream and imagination of people.They cannot even imagine going to abroad and that too for just seeing that how people live their was something far beyond their imagination.

People use to travel on camels and horses at that time .They take months of the journey to reach to the destination.Then their comes the invention of wheel and the carts were invented .People use them but it take too much time as an animal is running them.But wuth the passage of time ,technology advances and there invented the cars,bikes and then aeroplanes.This all made this so easy to travel and with the aeroplanes the journeys that take 2 to 4 months can now be travelled within days and that is so amazing.

With ease of travel their comes the time when people started to travel internationally to see how people there live,to see their life styles and the advancements there.People also travel to spent their vacations and enjoy the momets of live in other countries to enjoy nature and to see other's culture and festivals.

Also now the travelling become so much convenient wuth the inventions of bullet trains and bussiness class aeroplanes with the enjoyment of luxury.

2.In the past, technology was not so much advanced and people used to use pigeons and letters by posts to communicate with each other.Even if there comes an emergency lie the death of some relative or a neighbour,people were not be able to convey such an important message to their loved ones and it take days to get the message delivered.

But now with the advancement of technology ,computers and mobile phones are invented.This played an important role towards communication and technology.And with all of that internet was discovered and people start connecting with each other and the whole world become a global village.Now,with the fast and ever growing technology, people are able to send messages,voice notes,pictures and videos.Now people have developed apps to communicate and share moments with the whole world.Instagram and youtube are the the major apps and platforms where people share heir moments ,pictures and videos of countries and thus people all over the world are able to see that how other countries of the world looks like and what type of customs and traditions are practised in other countries.They can also see how people live there,how beautiful is the nature there.

All this is just because of the ease of international travel and spread of mass media all over the world.

There are also some disadvantages lying there.Not all the people are able to travel abroad to see how people live there because it is costly and one has to be stable enough to bear those expenses.

On the contrary,mass media including internet and television has no such issues of expenses.

This concludes that the advantages of this development overweigh the disadvantages.
