Student answer (Band 5.0)

Throught the help of social media and travelling it is easy now to find out the lifestyle of ither countries people.People have a lot of information with the help of social media.

No,it has not many disadvantages than benefits because it provide a lot of information about the environment, lifestyle and culture of other countries.Social media provide many things to us.It is actually social media ,which has brought us so much progress.

One of my experience in my life,a few months ago i planned to visit America .I want to see its most popular places. But one of my friend tell me about the environment of this country. He asked me to search about this. When i came home and search about it on social media i found that economic condition of this country is very bad in these days. There is an ongoing war with other countries. And the culture of this country is not good.So i refuse to take this journey. It is just because of social media that i know the situation of this country from very large distunce.

If we look at the disadvantages of this development ,i found that there is no privacy for any country because of social media.People update other on social media at everytime.

To conclude that, this develpment has many advantages than drawbacks. In this case we can neglect the disadvantages of this development because we find a lot of information by using this.By using this we know the lifestyle of many countries and other economical conditions. We come to know that whch place is suiitabla for us or not.So i prefer this progress.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall preference for the advantages, especially in the conclusion, and you identify a possible disadvantage: reduced privacy. However, the response only partially addresses the question because the benefits are mostly asserted rather than explained, and the example about cancelling a trip to America is confusing: claims about its economic condition, war, and culture are not clearly connected or supported. The opening also repeats that social media provides information without establishing a developed argument about international travel and mass media together. To strengthen the response, explain how learning about other societies can promote understanding or help travellers make informed choices, then develop the privacy concern with a specific consequence and weigh it against those benefits.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation: an opening, a personal example, a paragraph on a disadvantage, and a conclusion that restates your position. The reader can generally identify your main point. However, progression is limited, and several ideas are repeated, particularly that social media provides information and reveals other countries’ lifestyles. Connections between points are sometimes unclear; for example, the claims about America’s economy, war, and culture appear together without explaining how they support the decision not to travel. Linking phrases such as “If we look at the disadvantages” and “To conclude” help signal stages, but they do not create a clear line of reasoning. Give each paragraph one purpose and use explicit links to show how each example supports your judgement.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a small set of relevant terms, including “lifestyle,” “culture,” “privacy,” and “economic conditions,” so the general topic is understandable. However, vocabulary is limited and repetitive: “social media,” “development,” and “information” recur without much variation or precise explanation. Several spelling and word-choice errors also make the writing less clear, such as “Throught,” “ither,” “distunce,” and “suiitabla.” Some phrases are unnatural, including “update other on social media at everytime” and “from very large distance.” Build a more precise range for discussing international awareness, such as “cross-cultural understanding” and “share personal updates,” and check spelling and collocations carefully. This would make your ideas easier to follow and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a conditional-style example beginning “When I came home,” and a relative clause in “social media, which has brought us so much progress.” However, the range is limited, and complex attempts often contain errors. Examples include “it provide” and “Social media provide,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect, and “one of my friend tell me,” which has problems with number and tense. Tense shifts in the travel story (“I planned,” “I want,” “he tell,” “I found”) also make the sequence difficult to track. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are inconsistent. Practise keeping past-tense narratives consistently in the past and checking agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries when editing.
