Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response is only minimally developed in relation to the question. It mentions studying and working abroad, travel packages, and scholarships, but does not clearly explain whether the advantages of learning about life in other countries outweigh the disadvantages. No disadvantages are discussed, and the examples—such as the claims about Pakistani students and PhD graduates—are not explained or connected to the central comparison. The final sentence is unfinished, which leaves the argument without a conclusion. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, so there is too little material to develop a clear position and support it. To improve, state your view directly, address both advantages and disadvantages, and explain how each example supports your judgement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise ideas using “on the one hand” and “on the other hand,” and the response broadly moves from education and employment to travel and scholarships. However, these linking phrases do not establish a clear comparison of advantages and disadvantages, and the ideas within each section are difficult to follow. For example, the statistics about students and PhD graduates are introduced without a clear link to the topic of knowing how people live elsewhere. Several sentences begin with “and,” while the final thought stops at “make,” leaving the ending incomplete. Use separate paragraphs for each main point, connect examples explicitly to the argument, and finish with a conclusion that restates your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “international travelling,” “mass media,” “advertisement,” “opportunities,” and “scholarships.” These choices show an attempt to discuss education, employment, and travel. However, the range is limited, and frequent spelling and word-choice problems make parts of the message difficult to understand, such as “secholership,” “jobes,” and “reason able amount packages.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, including “international travels” and “leav over respective state.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “study abroad,” “employment opportunities,” and “cultural understanding” would help express the task’s central ideas.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple sentences and longer structures, including “many of people gose for finding jobs in other European countries” and a sentence beginning “because Pakistan have no good jobes available.” However, control of sentence structure and basic grammar is inconsistent, and several sentences are difficult to interpret. Examples include “some of population knowing very well,” “every educated person see,” and “Pakistan have,” where the subject and verb forms do not agree or the sentence pattern is incomplete. Articles and plural forms are also often missing or inaccurate. The final sentence is unfinished, and punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement, articles, and sentence endings.
