Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, the ease of international travel and mass media spreading has become common due to which people now can know how others live in different states. This development may have disadvantages like pressurising oneself to live like others; however, I believe it's advantages are greater because it brings new knowledge and many people gets apportunity to look after their loved ones who live in different countries.
One drawback of this trend is that many people get pressure for making their lives like one they are watching and this can impact their mental health. Studies show that stressing about a certain thing impacts person's brain. People who has access to visit internationally or see other individuals living peacefully might influence them negatively such as buying similar things like them, clothes, shoes, or bags. As a result, they may not yet get satisfied and end up getting themselves mentally ill.
In contrast, the reason I believe their advantages are more significant is the exploration bringing knowlege. Most people like to explore and visit new things which brings them ideas to change their life accordingly yet positively and get to learn different perspectives from different societies after travelling.
Another important advantage of this development is that most of the people get advantage to meet their own relatives or see them how they live through social media like instagram, facebook or tiktok. Most individuals have moved abroad due to which their parents, friends or other relatives get concerned about their living. Mass media makes easier for them to see them realistically with an option of visiting them too. Therefore, many find these technologies convenient.
In conclusion, watching others how they live might have negative effects but it's advantages for getting new information and access to meet or see their loved ones outweigh the drawbacks.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you acknowledge the pressure to imitate others but argue that the benefits are greater. Both sides are relevant, and you give examples such as people buying similar clothes and families using social media to keep up with relatives abroad. The discussion of learning about other societies also supports your view. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that imitation can lead to mental illness needs a clearer link or a more measured explanation, while the knowledge benefit would be stronger with a specific example of what people learn and how it improves their lives. Develop these ideas more evenly and connect each example directly to your judgement about the overall balance.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on a disadvantage, two paragraphs on advantages, and a conclusion. The progression from the drawback to the benefits is easy to follow, and signposts such as “One drawback,” “In contrast,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some flexibility in paragraphing. At times, however, links between ideas are mechanical or unclear. In the first body paragraph, the move from seeing others’ lifestyles to buying similar items and then becoming mentally ill needs more explicit reasoning. References such as “their advantages” are also not fully clear. Use more precise referencing and build each paragraph around a clearly explained chain of reasoning.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to discuss the topic, including relevant terms such as “mental health,” “perspectives,” “relatives,” and “convenient.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “different societies” and “social media.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision: “mass media spreading,” “get pressure,” and “exploration bringing knowlege” do not sound natural, and “knowlege” is misspelled. The repeated use of “people,” “live,” and “advantage” also narrows the range. Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling; for example, use “the spread of mass media,” “feel pressured,” and “gaining knowledge” to express your ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in the introduction (“however”) and a conditional-style explanation of the disadvantage. Most of your meaning remains understandable, and the paragraphs contain some correctly formed sentences. However, errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. Examples include “many people gets,” “People who has access,” and “impacts person's brain”; these should be “many people get,” “people who have access,” and “affects a person’s brain.” The sentence beginning “Most people like to explore and visit new things” also has an unclear structure. Review subject–verb agreement and article use, and simplify sentences when you are unsure how to connect several ideas accurately.
