Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the present time international travelling become more easier and convenient as currently individuals are more aware about the living style of others in the other countries. This could only be possible by the modernization of media. In my view, there are more pros than cons of this development on the society.
Firstly, discussing the merits of the different kinds of mass media. It helps to know about the culture of others, with that citizens are more aware about that. They take more interest in it as now they have videos of that specific countries. Media also helped them to have knowledge from others experiences which later on benefical for them. It become more eaiser to explore the countries through the media as people post pictures on the internet, it helps the upcoming tourist to know about the place. For example, in the recent time through media going abroad become less stressful as students were able to know about the procedure easily because of their seniors who shares their personal experience on media.
On the other hand, the cons of the media on the international travel. It spread false information as people who have experience of travelling make a false videos on media leads to misguidance to others who do not have that experience before leads to bad remarks from them. Moreover, they may waste their money on someone information. Additionally, due to media there are some privacy concerns. Individuals photos and videos were uploaded to media withour there as
In conclusion, considering both merits and demerits of different kinds of media. I believe it has more pros than cons as it make the travel easier.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks, and your discussion of media helping people learn about cultures and prepare for travel is relevant. The example of students learning procedures from seniors’ experiences also supports your point. However, the response only partly develops the comparison: the advantages receive more explanation, while the disadvantages are briefly listed and the privacy point is left unfinished (“uploaded to media withour there as”). The task concerns both easier international travel and mass media, but your argument focuses mainly on media and does not explain the contribution of travel itself in much detail. Develop each main idea with a clear explanation and a complete example, and make the weighing of advantages against disadvantages more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: several points are placed together without clear links, and the opening fragment “Firstly, discussing the merits…” does not form a complete transition into the discussion. Some references are also unclear, such as “with that citizens are more aware about that,” where the reader has to infer what “that” refers to. The final disadvantage paragraph breaks off, weakening the connection to the conclusion. Use complete topic sentences, clearer referencing, and links that show how each example supports the main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “culture,” “personal experience,” “misguidance,” and “privacy concerns.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both benefits and risks rather than relying entirely on very basic language. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “living style” for ways of life, “false videos” for misleading content, and “bad remarks” for negative impressions or criticism. Spelling and word-form errors such as “benefical,” “eaiser,” and “withour” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of phrases for travel and media, and check spelling and collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “as,” “because,” and “which,” so there is some variety in structure. However, complex sentences are often faulty or incomplete, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response difficult to follow. For example, “international travelling become more easier” has problems with the verb form and comparative construction, while “students were able to know … because of their seniors who shares” contains an agreement error. The sentence beginning “It spread false information as…” also runs into an unclear, incomplete construction, and the final privacy sentence is unfinished. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, verb tenses, articles, and sentence boundaries. Shorter, complete sentences would help you express the ideas more reliably.
