Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and make your overall view apparent: international exposure can bring help to people in difficult circumstances, while misleading portrayals can damage a country’s reputation and encourage racism. The Somalia example gives the positive argument some concrete support, and the Middle East example illustrates a possible disadvantage. However, the response does not clearly weigh the two sides or state directly whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Some claims are also under-developed—for instance, the link between social-media campaigns and governments providing aid is asserted without explaining how this happens. A clearer judgement and more balanced explanation of the examples would make the response more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the main contrast, and phrases such as “for example” and “on other hand” signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within sentences and paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. In the first body paragraph, the sequence from videos to hashtags, authorities, and government aid is compressed, while “cause a emergency” does not clearly connect to the preceding idea. The conclusion repeats earlier points rather than bringing them together in a clear comparison. Use clearer sentence boundaries and more precise referencing, and make each paragraph develop one main point in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “reputation,” “racism,” “authorities,” and “internationally,” and you communicate the broad ideas about aid and harmful stereotypes. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: examples include “traval,” “fimiliarity,” “accessbilty,” and “milicious.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, such as “cold ward” and “make hashtags.” This limits the precision and control expected at this level, even though the intended meaning is often recoverable from context. Work on accurate spelling and natural collocations, and choose specific terms—for example, “spread awareness” rather than “make hashtags”—to express your ideas more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “who,” “such as,” and “which.” This gives you some variety, but control is inconsistent. Several sentences are fragments or are joined in ways that obscure their relationships, such as the opening “which highlighted the problems…” and the later “cause a emergency in many other countries.” There are also errors in verb forms and sentence construction, for example “how other people living” and “many governments too actions.” Punctuation and capitalisation are also unreliable, making some long sentences harder to read. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement and clause connections while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
