Student answer (Band 5.5)

International travel and the increase in social media made it even more easy for individuals to check hat is going on in other people life across the country. I vehently believed that slaggering downsides overshadow superiority.

Examing the downside, First of all due to increase in mass media it is easy for people to adapt other traditions and make changes in their own life style such as ; wearing mordern clothes ,going to clubs and cafes for party ,consuming alcohal to look cool on social media etc.. which is not right for them because of this they are slowly forgeting their own tradition and culture.

Furthermore, social media made a big influence on people thinking it change their way of seeing the world as they see it before mostly it depend on what kind of staaf they are consuming or which person they are following on social media platforms. Most of the time people get bad influence and spend their a lot of money on showing off on social media by purchasing expensive staaf.

On the contray I would not overlook its advantages because of social media people can explore more and more new places all over the world and can collect the info what is happening oversea . whereas it is also become very easy to ommunicate with other people from all over the world.

In conclusion, social media had some advantages but it has more bad influence on people which is not good for their tradition and culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall view that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages, and you identify relevant concerns about cultural change, social-media influence and overspending. You also acknowledge benefits, including discovering places and communicating internationally. However, the response addresses the comparison only partially: the advantages receive much less explanation than the disadvantages, and the examples are asserted rather than supported with specific reasoning or evidence. For instance, you say people adopt other traditions and forget their own, but do not explain when cultural exchange is harmful or distinguish it from positive learning. Develop both sides more evenly and explain why the disadvantages are more significant overall.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two paragraphs about disadvantages, a paragraph on advantages and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “First of all,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and some connections feel mechanical or imprecise. The shift beginning “On the contray” is understandable, but the advantages are compressed into one sentence and are not connected clearly to the comparison in your position. Improve cohesion by grouping each main idea with its explanation and example, and use pronouns or linking phrases only when their references are clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “tradition and culture,” “influence,” “communicate” and “oversea,” and the reader can generally identify your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “vehently,” “slaggering downsides,” “staaf” and “ommunicate.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “check what is going on in other people life” and “showing off on social media.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for cultural exchange, media influence and consumer spending would help express your ideas clearly without relying on repeated general words such as “people” and “social media.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use some longer sentence forms to explain causes and effects, for example, “because of this they are slowly forgetting their own tradition and culture.” However, the range is limited, and attempts to combine several ideas often produce faulty sentence structure. In “social media made a big influence on people thinking it change their way,” the clauses are not joined or punctuated clearly, and the verb forms do not remain consistent. There are also recurring problems with articles, plurals and agreement, as in “other people life” and “it is also become.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then connect them with controlled subordinate clauses and check tense and agreement.
