Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You take a position that the benefits are greater, stating that international travel and mass media have “more positives effects rather than negative,” and you mention relevant benefits such as learning about other cultures and technology, studying, and doing business abroad. You also identify disadvantages, including cultural influence and false information, so the response addresses both sides of the question. However, the position is not maintained clearly: the opening discusses the topic in general, and the conclusion says the development is important but does not clearly weigh its advantages against its disadvantages. Most points are listed rather than explained or supported with specific examples, so the response only partially fulfils the task. Develop two or three central ideas and show why they make the advantages outweigh the drawbacks. The response meets the required length; 19 words copied from the prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has an introduction, a body section, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion, and basic signposts such as “To begin with,” “In addition,” and “By concluding” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, the ideas do not progress in a clear, logical sequence. The opening paragraph moves from the general importance of the topic to effects on work, education, health, and relationships without explaining their connection to the argument. The second paragraph shifts abruptly from cultural knowledge to technology, study, and business. Linking phrases are sometimes used mechanically, and references such as “this situation” are vague. Give each paragraph one clear purpose, connect each example to the main claim, and use transitions that express the actual relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “international travel,” “mass media,” “culture,” “technologies,” and “information,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or spellings make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “mass manufacturing” where the topic is mass media, “more advantages to another individuals,” and “the media display the lieying information.” There are also repeated general terms such as “situation,” “people,” and “important,” where more precise language would make the argument clearer. Build a small set of accurate expressions for cultural exchange, access to information, and misinformation, and check spelling and word forms before finishing. More precise collocations would improve clarity as well as range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including “It mainly depends on how people use it and how they deal with the situation,” and you use clauses introduced by “because” and “if.” However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence structure and basic grammar occur frequently enough to make some sentences hard to follow. For example, “how other individuals lives” needs a correctly formed clause, while “First people knows” has a subject–verb agreement problem. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “the international travel and mass media is an important to our life.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check agreement, articles, and punctuation in each sentence.
