Student answer (Band 5.0)

travelling is one of the most important and learning part of ones life as it teaches us various things like how to deal with different problems and how to use available thing to make it a successful tour . social media is one of the biggest and most important thing for awareness and entertainment .

people use social media for various purposes like for studies, entertainment, facts , etc. however, mixing social media with travelling is a extraordinary idea that can be think as it gives a real experience of that tour such as you are travelling that in real life . it help people in many ways like help people to make their road map helps to know more about that place and teaches us by what means we can go over there and enjoy our visit. it tells about various other cultures that we can learn about them by sitting at our home . it also acts like entertainment and as a real life book which teaches us abut different persons life.

however, this combo has disadvantages also like the person who is sharing all this information has to sacrafice their personal life and has to spend his all time making videos . this also reduces the enjoyment of that person if he/ she visit that place and didn't get the same things as he watched in the video it hurts him and reduces the main happiness for which he is visiting .

in conclusion we have to focus on the advantages as all things have both advantages and disadvantages but insipte of that it has more advantages than bad things . so yes the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear final view that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and you identify relevant benefits such as learning about other cultures and planning a visit. However, the response only partially addresses the specific development in the question: international travel and mass media making people more aware of how others live. Much of the discussion shifts to social media and travelling together, rather than explaining the broader effects of international travel and mass media. The disadvantages are also limited to content creators’ personal sacrifices and disappointment when a destination differs from a video. Develop each main point with a specific example and explain its significance; this would make your position clearer and your ideas more fully supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. The contrast signalled by “however” helps the reader follow the shift to drawbacks, and the conclusion restates your position. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the benefits move from studies and entertainment to road maps, cultural learning, and videos without a clear organising principle. Several ideas are joined in long sentences, while repeated references to “it” make it difficult to identify what is being discussed. Use clearer topic sentences, group related points, and make references explicit—for example, specify whether “it” means social media, travel videos, or travel itself.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “different cultures,” “road map,” “personal life,” and “advantages and disadvantages.” These choices make the general subject understandable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “important and learning part,” “various other cultures,” and “real life book.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “sacrafice,” “insipte,” and “abut,” which reduce the accuracy and polish of the writing. Aim for more precise topic vocabulary and natural collocations, such as describing media as a source of cultural insight or explaining how travel content can shape expectations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional idea in “if he/she visit that place and didn't get the same things.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. Examples include “it help people,” “a extraordinary idea,” and “the person … has to spend his all time,” which show problems with agreement, articles, and sentence construction. Tense and verb forms are also inconsistent in the conditional sentence. Punctuation and capitalisation are unreliable, with several sentences beginning in lowercase and long clauses joined without clear boundaries. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build complex sentences around one clear main clause.
