Student answer (Band 6.0)

The leisure of global travelling and the expansion of different forms of mass media around the world have increased the possibility of knowing the livelihood of peoples residing in other countries. I firmly believe that the benefits outweighs the negative aspecrts of the ease of international travelling for tourism and other purposes as well as the expanding mass media in the world have made it possible to know the life of individuals living in other countries.

The modernization of technology have made the international travelling comfortable which ultimately increased the international tourism thus increasing the connection among citizens of different nations through which they get information about the lifestyle of individuals round the world. The expansion of mass media specifically social media have connected people very closely and through these means there are increasing connection, affection, and cultural exchange. They also provide platform for exchange of information regarding livelihood problems and global mutual challenges thus bringing them on one platform. For an instance, a child vlogger name Shiraz living in a small village of karakoram range in Khaplu Skardu have started making videos about his daily life and this vlogging has connected him throughout the world. He has shared some of the challenges faced by his village peoples and are resolved and highlighted by both local and international communities.

There are some negative aspects of international travelling leisure and media expansion as it has also increased the number of crimes and fakeness among people as try to copy what they have observed in other cultures risking their individuality of that specified culture.

Conclusively, travelling globally and media expansion have positive outcomes and mutual benefits outweighing its negative aspects.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you believe the benefits of international travel and mass media outweigh the disadvantages. You address both sides and support the benefits with relevant points about cultural exchange, shared challenges, and the example of Shiraz’s videos. However, the advantages receive much fuller treatment than the disadvantages. The claim that travel and media increase crime and lead people to copy other cultures is brief and not explained with a specific example or clear reasoning. Some supporting ideas, such as the connection between tourism and learning about lifestyles, could also be developed further. To strengthen the response, explain the mechanism behind each point and give the disadvantage a more precise, balanced example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a developed paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on drawbacks, and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress from travel to media and then to a concrete example, which helps the reader follow your main argument. Some linking is effective, including “thus” to show results, but connections can become mechanical or unclear. For example, the long sentence beginning “The modernization of technology…” combines several stages of reasoning, while “For an instance” introduces the example awkwardly. The final paragraph on disadvantages is also much shorter than the benefits paragraph, making the discussion feel uneven. Use clearer sentence boundaries and more explicit links between each claim and its explanation.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “international tourism,” “cultural exchange,” “livelihood problems,” and “mutual challenges.” These choices show an effort to discuss the topic beyond basic terms, and the intended meaning is generally understandable. However, some less common expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “the leisure of global travelling,” “knowing the livelihood,” and “fakeness among people.” There are also spelling and word-form slips, including “aspecrts” and “peoples,” which reduce precision. Aim for natural collocations and choose words that express the intended idea directly. For instance, distinguish between learning about people’s lifestyles and understanding their livelihoods, as these do not mean the same thing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses of cause and result, as in “which ultimately increased the international tourism.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main message remains understandable. However, some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction persist. Examples include “the benefits outweighs,” “technology have made,” and “a child vlogger name Shiraz … have started.” The opening sentence is also difficult to control because it repeats the central idea in a long structure. Work on matching subjects and verbs, and divide long sentences into clearer units. More accurate control of these patterns would make your argument easier to read.
