Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main trends in the graphs and the survey data, but the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you identified the increase in fines and the stability of fatalities, the description lacks precision regarding the data points. For instance, you mention '3000 road accident' without specifying the unit or the time frame clearly. Additionally, the survey data is presented as a list of points rather than being integrated into a cohesive summary. To improve, ensure you provide specific data comparisons (e.g., comparing the start and end points of both trends) and avoid vague phrases like 'it has come a long way'.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical. For example, 'In contrast' and 'Whereas' are used, but the transition between the graph analysis and the survey results is abrupt. Some sentences are short and choppy, which disrupts the flow of the text. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'fast drive accidents' instead of 'speeding-related accidents' and 'allocation of smart cameras' instead of 'installation of speed cameras'. You also use 'rose' as a noun ('there is constant rose'), which is grammatically incorrect. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to data description, such as 'a steady increase' or 'a significant surge', and ensure you use the correct word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('speed cameras is helping'), incorrect verb tenses ('it has remain'), and missing articles ('in first year'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing spaces after periods. To improve, proofread your work specifically for basic subject-verb agreement and ensure that your sentence structures are grammatically sound before attempting more complex forms.
