Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the task but fails to provide a comprehensive overview. While you mention the increase in fines, you completely omit the data regarding road accident fatalities, which is a key part of the prompt. The report focuses heavily on listing the figures for fines year-by-year, which is a mechanical approach rather than an analytical one. To improve, you should group data to highlight trends and ensure all visual information is represented. The survey data is included, but the lack of synthesis between the trends in fines and the accident data limits the score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and repetitive. You rely on simple listing (e.g., 'in first year', 'in second year') rather than using linking words to show relationships between the data points. The progression of ideas is somewhat mechanical. To reach a higher band, you should use a wider range of cohesive devices such as 'consequently', 'in contrast', or 'furthermore' to connect your sentences and ideas more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, with frequent spelling errors such as 'cemera' instead of 'camera', 'britain' (should be capitalized), and 'safrty'. The range of vocabulary is limited to simple descriptive terms. There is little attempt to use more sophisticated or academic language to describe trends (e.g., 'fluctuated', 'peaked', 'remained stable'). To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to data description and ensure you proofread your work to correct basic spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains several grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., '60% people does not think') and missing articles (e.g., 'in first year'). The sentence structures are predominantly simple, with very few attempts at complex sentences. When complex structures are attempted, they often contain errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb forms and the appropriate use of articles, before moving on to more complex grammatical structures.
