Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have successfully addressed all parts of the task by describing both the trends in the graphs and the key findings from the survey tables. You provided a clear overview of the main trends, noting the increase in fines versus the stability of fatalities, and highlighted the public's skepticism regarding the cameras. The data is accurately represented, and the comparison between the two data sets is logical. To reach a higher band, ensure you include more specific data points from the tables to support your observations, such as the exact percentages for all categories mentioned, rather than just a selection, to ensure a more comprehensive report.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The report is logically organized with a clear introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'In contrast', 'Moreover', and 'According to' to link ideas effectively. The progression of information is easy to follow. However, some transitions could be more sophisticated to improve the flow between sentences. For instance, the transition between the graph data and the survey data is functional but could be smoother. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the information is presented in a coherent manner throughout the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fluctuated', 'significantly', and 'revenue'. There are some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'Britian' instead of 'Britain', 'oven' instead of 'over', and 'to many' instead of 'too many'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the score. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and ensure careful proofreading to eliminate simple spelling mistakes, which will help you achieve a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. There are some grammatical slips, such as 'speeding camera did not reduce' (should be plural) and '32% people' (should be '32% of people'). Additionally, there are minor issues with article usage and prepositions, such as 'According to survey' (should be 'According to the survey'). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely impede the reader's understanding. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the consistent use of articles in academic writing.
