Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers all parts of the task, including the line graphs and the survey tables. However, the interpretation of the data is often inaccurate or confusing. For example, the description of the accident fatalities and the number of fines lacks precision and misrepresents the trends shown in the graphs. The summary of the survey data is particularly unclear, making it difficult for the reader to understand the relationship between the variables. To improve, ensure that data points are cited accurately and that the trends are described with logical clarity rather than just listing numbers.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inappropriate, such as the abrupt transition between the line graph analysis and the survey data. Referencing is often unclear, and the lack of proper sentence structure makes it difficult to follow the progression of the report. The overall structure is present, but the logical connection between sentences is weak, which hinders the clarity of the information presented.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and contains frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'liiustrate', 'decerased', 'incerased', and 'avaliability'. The phrasing is often unnatural, for example, 'countion of drivers' and 'fines were touched to its peak'. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary related to the graphs, the lack of precision and the high frequency of spelling errors impede communication. A wider range of vocabulary and more attention to correct spelling and collocations are necessary to improve the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response relies on a limited range of sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include incorrect verb tenses, missing articles, and faulty sentence construction, such as 'the road accident fatalities were incerased with fluctuations' and 'it can not help to 60% of accidents'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. These errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader in understanding the intended meaning. More focus on basic sentence structure and proofreading for grammatical accuracy is required.
