Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the graphs and tables, but the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you identify key trends, such as the increase in fines and the fluctuation in accident rates, the description lacks precision. For example, stating that fines reached 'almost 600000' or '1600000' is vague, and the data interpretation is occasionally inaccurate or poorly linked to the visual evidence. Furthermore, the survey data is presented in a fragmented way without clear comparison. To improve, ensure you provide a clear overview of the main trends and support all claims with accurate data points from the charts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical. Phrases like 'Initially' and 'Furthermore' are used, but the internal flow between sentences is often disjointed. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly when moving between the graph data and the survey results. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider range of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear central topic that flows logically into the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety expected at higher levels. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'count of drivers' instead of 'number of drivers' and 'very fast speed' instead of 'excessive speed'. Additionally, the use of '12 percentile' is incorrect; '12 percent' would be the appropriate term. The range of vocabulary is somewhat repetitive, relying on basic descriptors. Incorporating more academic collocations related to data description would significantly enhance the quality of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'who has been caught' (should be 'who have been caught'), 'causing death of so many people on the road accident' (awkward phrasing), and 'fine on over speed' (should be 'fines for speeding'). Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy.
