Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement. Furthermore, the content is incomplete; you have completely omitted the survey data mentioned in the prompt. The overview is present but lacks sufficient detail, and the description of the trends is fragmented and lacks the necessary precision to fully address the task. To improve, you must ensure all parts of the prompt are covered and provide a more comprehensive analysis of the data provided in the graphs and tables.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The response is poorly structured. The use of bullet points and fragmented sentences disrupts the flow of information. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices like 'first of all' and 'secondy', they are used incorrectly or in a mechanical way. The paragraphing is non-existent, and the logical progression of ideas is difficult to follow. To improve, you should focus on writing full, well-connected sentences and organizing your report into clear paragraphs: an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs detailing the specific data points.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms such as 'grew', 'climbed', and 'maintained', which are often used with incorrect collocations or imprecise phrasing (e.g., 'in bottom of year'). There is no attempt to use a wider range of vocabulary to describe trends or data. To achieve a higher band, you need to incorporate more varied and precise vocabulary related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', 'remained constant', or 'a significant increase'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentence structures. There are frequent errors in basic grammar, such as subject-verb agreement ('The speed camera fines shows') and preposition usage ('remained stable by to 3,000'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary capitalization and fragmented sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring that your verbs agree with your subjects. You should also practice using more complex sentence structures to describe the relationships between the data points.
