Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have successfully identified the main trends and features of the graphs and tables. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with data from the charts. However, there are some inaccuracies in your interpretation of the data; for example, you stated that fatalities remained 'stabled' and then 'fluctuated', which is slightly contradictory. Additionally, the description of the survey results is a bit disjointed and lacks a clear connection to the overall trend. To improve, ensure that your data points are accurate and that you group the survey information more logically to highlight the key findings rather than listing percentages sequentially.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'Regarding, the speed camera fines...' is grammatically awkward. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes jumpy, particularly in the final paragraph where you list survey results without sufficient linking words to connect the different opinions. Improving the variety and accuracy of your transition signals (e.g., 'furthermore', 'in contrast', 'consequently') would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the main points, such as 'proportion', 'fluctuated', and 'revenue'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'remain stabled' instead of 'remained stable' and 'followed the down trend' instead of 'followed a downward trend'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your report. To reach a higher band, focus on using more accurate collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing when describing trends.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
Your writing shows a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the speed camera fines was'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'who not agreed'), and missing articles. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your verb tenses are consistent when describing past data.
