Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers all parts of the task, including the bar charts and the survey tables. You have identified the main trends, such as the rise in fines and the fluctuation in fatalities, and included key data points. However, there are some inaccuracies in your interpretation of the data; for instance, you mention '8 decades' instead of '8 years', and the description of the survey data is slightly confusing, particularly the final sentence regarding the number of cameras. To improve, ensure you accurately transcribe the timeframes and clarify the relationship between the survey percentages and the categories they represent.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'Overall', 'Furthermore', and 'In the other hand' (though this is a collocation error). However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the connection between the survey figures and the opinions is disjointed. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help create a smoother progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey the main points, such as 'delineate', 'fluctuating', and 'revenue'. However, there are several instances of incorrect word choice and awkward phrasing, such as 'minored as', 'on the late time', and 'the figure of accidents'. These errors occasionally impede the precision of your report. To reach a higher band, focus on using collocations correctly (e.g., 'the rate fluctuated' rather than 'the rate are fluctuating') and avoid repeating simple structures when describing data trends.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('speed camera fines was recorded', 'fatalities rate are fluctuating') and incorrect preposition usage ('on road' instead of 'on roads'). Additionally, there are errors in article usage and sentence construction, such as 'the number of about 8%'. While the meaning is generally understandable, these persistent errors in basic grammar prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and pluralisation.
