The tables show the results of a survey on people's opinions on speed cameras.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

The graphs illustrate the number of drivers in Britain who were caught speeding by speed cameras and the number of people killed in road accidents over an eight-year period following the introduction of speed cameras. The tables provide information about public attitudes towards the use of these cameras.

Overall, the number of drivers caught speeding increased substantially, despite some fluctuations, while the number of road fatalities declined considerably. In addition, the survey indicates that public support for speed cameras remained relatively strong, particularly among people who believed that the cameras had improved road safety.

In the first year, approximately 100,000 drivers were caught speeding. This figure rose sharply to around 300,000 in the second year before falling slightly. It then increased steadily, reaching roughly 500,000 by the end of the period. In contrast, the number of people killed in road accidents followed a downward trend. It fell from about 3,400 fatalities initially to approximately 2,500 at the end of the eight-year period, although there were minor fluctuations along the way.
