SPEED CAMERA FINES and ROAD ACCIDENT FATALITIES

SPEED CAMERA FINES and ROAD ACCIDENT FATALITIES

Student answer (Band 5.0)

This graph illustrates range of drivers in Britain who have been driving with greater speed and they have been seen by these cameras put on the roads, and individuals expired on the roads since the introduction of these cameras. This table demonstrates the concequences of survey on public opinions on speed cameras.

Overall, two things have been disscused here one is about fine and the other is accident fatalities. Speed camera fine is at its lowest point in first year and gradually increased in few next coming years but after fifth year this have been increased to the alarming numbers wheares, road accident fatalities did not affect it badly there is no much change in it sometimes it increases and few time it decreases. Now you can see in the graph in year 1 fines were about 200,000 but steadily in increased in next year approximately 400,000 in contrast to the first five years the line of graph sharply inclined and went to its highest value of 1,600,000.

In road accident fatalities there is no sharp decrease and increase and showed almost the same rate. In first year, about 3,000 road accident fatalities and gradually increases upto third year and then decreased downto almost 2,800 and at the end of year this rate remains at 3,200.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

You have identified the main trends in the graph, such as the increase in fines and the relative stability of fatalities. However, the response fails to address the survey tables entirely, which is a key part of the prompt. To achieve a higher band, you must include information from all provided visuals. Additionally, some descriptions are imprecise; for instance, stating that fatalities 'did not affect it badly' is an interpretation rather than a factual description of the data. Ensure you focus on reporting the data objectively rather than speculating on the relationship between the variables.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often mechanical. You use some cohesive devices like 'in contrast to' and 'overall', but the transition between the graph description and the survey (which you omitted) is missing. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as 'this have been increased', where the pronoun 'this' does not clearly refer back to a specific noun. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would help the logical progression of your report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is somewhat limited and contains several inaccuracies. For example, you use 'expired' to describe people dying in accidents, which is inappropriate in this context; 'fatalities' or 'deaths' would be correct. You also use 'inclined' incorrectly to describe the graph line; 'rose' or 'increased' would be more natural. There are also spelling errors such as 'concequences' and 'disscused'. To improve, focus on using precise terminology for data trends and proofreading for common spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'in first year' should be 'in the first year', and 'steadily in increased' is grammatically incorrect. You also have issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'this have been increased'. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct article usage and verb tenses, before attempting more complex structures.
