Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. Furthermore, the task requires describing both the graphs and the survey tables, but the survey data is completely ignored. The description of the graphs is also underdeveloped; for instance, the claim that fatalities remained between 3000 and 3500 is inaccurate based on the visual data provided. The overview is too brief and fails to highlight the key trends effectively. To improve, ensure all parts of the prompt are addressed, including the tables, and provide a more accurate and detailed analysis of the data trends.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into short paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices like 'To commence with' and 'Overall', the transitions between ideas are often mechanical or confusing. The lack of development in the body paragraphs makes the flow feel disjointed. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the vague mention of 'some question are there based on the results of camera'. To improve, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices to link sentences and ensure each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that supports the overall report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts the ability to describe the data with precision. Phrases like 'fine trend gone upside' and 'significantly spike with potency' are unnatural and demonstrate a lack of control over academic collocations. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'people who driving fast' instead of 'people caught speeding'. To reach a higher band, you should learn and use more precise vocabulary related to data description, such as 'upward trend', 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', and 'a significant increase'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'lowest amount of fine were made' (subject-verb agreement), 'road accident fatalities graph remain' (missing article and verb tense error), and 'there are some question are there' (redundant and incorrect structure). The range of sentence structures is very limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and incorporating a variety of complex sentence structures, such as using subordinating conjunctions to link related ideas.
