SPEED CAMERA FINES and ROAD ACCIDENT FATALITIES
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The given line graphs illustrate the figures of drivers who have been caught for driving at a rapid speed on roads of Britain, and the number of inhabitants killed in accidents over an-eight year period. While the accompanying tables demonstrate feedbacks of Britain's population on introduced surveilliance system.
Overall, it is evident that, while the number of drivers rose dramatically, the figures for accident fluctuated between certain numbers. According to the report, A substantial proportion of individuals reckon that cameras did not diminish the fatalities of accident.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have successfully identified the key features of the graphs and tables. You provided a clear overview and selected relevant data points to support your description. However, there are some inaccuracies in data reporting; for instance, you mention a 'pie chart' when the prompt refers to graphs and tables, and your description of the accident figures is slightly confusing. To improve, ensure you accurately label the visual aids and double-check your data transcription. The report covers all parts of the prompt well, but the analysis of the survey data could be more concise to avoid listing every single percentage, which can make the report feel like a list rather than a synthesis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'By contrast', and 'Furthermore' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel forced. The referencing is generally clear, but the connection between the survey data and the main argument could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices more naturally to improve the overall flow of the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'diminish', 'substantial proportion', and 'populace'. However, there are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'inhabitants killed in accidents' (should be 'fatalities') and 'enabled to improve' (which is imprecise). There are also minor errors in word form, such as 'feedbacks' (which is uncountable) and 'surveilliance' (spelling). To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure you are using collocations correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. However, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'the figures of accident' (should be 'accident figures'), 'the number of cameras were right' (subject-verb agreement error), and inconsistent punctuation. Some sentences are slightly clunky, such as 'Table presented a significant survey', which lacks an article. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles to enhance your accuracy.
