Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers all parts of the task, including the graphs and the survey tables. However, the analysis is inconsistent and contains factual inaccuracies. For instance, you state that road accident fatalities remained 'stable' and 'unchanged' at 3,000, yet you later mention a peak of 3,500 and a decrease to 2,900, which contradicts your initial summary. Furthermore, the interpretation of the survey data is confusing; the percentages provided (60%, 37%, 26%, 71%) are not clearly linked to the specific survey questions, making the information difficult to follow. To improve, ensure that your data points are accurately transcribed and that your summary reflects the actual trends shown in the visuals.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Similarly' is used to introduce the survey data, but it does not logically connect to the previous paragraph about accident statistics. Additionally, referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the final sentence where 'other 71' is left hanging without context. The progression of ideas is hindered by these lapses in cohesion and the confusing presentation of the survey results. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring clear pronoun referencing would improve the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and contains several errors. You use 'speedy drivers' instead of 'speeding drivers' and 'rood accidents' (a typo for road). There is also confusion between 'facilities' and 'fatalities', which significantly changes the meaning of your report. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'installation' and 'survey', the frequent word-choice errors and spelling mistakes (e.g., 'forth' instead of 'fourth', 'oher' instead of 'other') limit the effectiveness of your communication. Focusing on accurate terminology for data description is essential.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'had been rising' when simple past or present perfect would be more appropriate), missing articles, and punctuation errors, such as the space in '200, 000'. Subject-verb agreement is also inconsistent, as seen in 'other thinks' instead of 'others think'. These errors occur frequently and occasionally cause the reader to pause, though the overall meaning remains generally discernible. Increasing the accuracy of basic sentence construction should be your priority.
