IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The graphs below show the number of drivers in Britain who have been caught driving too fast by speed cameras placed on roads, and the number of people killed in road accidents, over an eight-year period since the introduction of speed cameras. The tables show the results of a survey on people's opinions on speed cameras.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

SPEED CAMERA FINES and ROAD ACCIDENT FATALITIES

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The combination of line graphs illustrates the information about speed camera fines and road accident fatalities.

At a fleeting glance, the highest amount of fines are charges in 8th year, which is approximately 1,600,000. Followed by, in 7th year, count of charge is almost 1,500,000. However, the lowest element of the graph is 1st year, which is near about 200,000. Also, 60% of individuals believe that speed cameras didn't reduce the number of accidents on roads.

Moving ahead, the maximum number of road accident fatalities is, more than 3,000 during 3rd year. Moreover, in 2nd year, the count is near about 3500. However, the minimum count of road accidents is in 4th year, which is almost 2900. Furthermore, 71% of people believe that speed cameras are just for raise revenue.

Overall, it is crystal clear that amount of fine is increasing year by year, but very fewer change shown in road accident.
