Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to address the primary data provided in the graphs. While you mention the graphs, you do not describe the trends in speed camera fines or road accident fatalities over the eight-year period, which is the core requirement of the task. You focus exclusively on the survey tables. To improve, you must provide a clear overview of the visual data (the line graphs) and select key features to compare. The current response is incomplete as it ignores the main visual information, leading to a significant omission in task coverage.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response lacks logical paragraphing and structure. The text is presented as a single block of information, making it difficult to follow. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas; for example, the transition between the survey results and the reasons for installation is abrupt. The use of referencing is also weak, as the connection between the different survey tables is not clearly established. To improve, use clear paragraph breaks to separate the overview, the graph analysis, and the survey findings, and employ linking words like 'furthermore', 'in contrast', or 'consequently'.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is somewhat repetitive and basic. You rely heavily on phrases like 'people think' or 'people opinion'. There are also errors in word formation and spelling, such as 'fatilities' (fatalities) and 'niether' (neither). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the basic meaning of the survey results, it lacks the range and precision required for an Academic Task 1 report. To improve, try to use more varied reporting verbs and nouns, such as 'respondents', 'perceived', 'indicated', or 'the majority of participants'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('graph illustrate', 'people thoughts are') and punctuation. Sentence structures are generally simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. For instance, 'The given graph illustrate that how...' is grammatically incorrect. You should focus on using a wider variety of sentence structures, such as relative clauses or passive voice, and ensure that basic subject-verb agreement and punctuation are accurate to improve clarity and flow.
