IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The graphs below show the number of drivers in Britain who have been caught driving too fast by speed cameras placed on roads, and the number of people killed in road accidents, over an eight-year period since the introduction of speed cameras. The tables show the results of a survey on people's opinions on speed cameras.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

SPEED CAMERA FINES and ROAD ACCIDENT FATALITIES

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The line graphs shows the number of the British drivers who have been caught driving too rush and number of people killed in road accidents during 8 year period after the installation of the speed cameras on the road. There are also 3 types of questionnaires where people have responded their views on the linkage between the road accidents and installation of speed cameras.

During the Period 1, 200 thousands of speed cameras had been implanted which leads to around 3100 deaths. It is seen that the speed cameras has been gradually increasing from 200 thousands to around 1600 thousands of installation over the eight years period. But despite the increasing number of installations, the death fatalities is spanning around 3000 to 3500 deaths at a period which has not been decreased during the years.

On the other hand, the surveyors surveyed the people regarding the installation of speed cameras and road accident fatalities, it is found that 60% people believed that speed cameras does not contributing in reducing the accidents. it is seen that with 1600 thousands of installation, death is still not decreasing rather it is increasing from the year 6.

People also believed that installation is mainly done to increase the revenue of the British government and it is also seen that the installation of speed cameras has sharply increased from year 1 to year 8 while accident is seems to be in the same proportion as it was before installation.
