Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers all parts of the task, including the graphs and the survey tables. You provide a clear overview and select key features, such as the significant rise in fines and the stability of fatalities. However, the analysis is slightly underdeveloped in places. For instance, you mention the fatality figures fluctuate between 3000 and 3500, but you do not specify the time frame clearly or contrast the trends effectively. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points are accurately transcribed and that the relationship between the variables is explored more deeply, rather than just listing the figures.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for the graphs, and a section for the survey data. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Meanwhile', and 'Additionally' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by minor punctuation errors, such as the unnecessary comma after 'While' in the first paragraph. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the transition between the graph data and the survey data could be smoother to ensure a more cohesive narrative throughout the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'soar', 'fluctuating', and 'perception'. There are some minor spelling errors, such as 'fatalies' instead of 'fatalities' and 'Addtitionally' instead of 'Additionally'. While you attempt to use more precise language, some word choices are slightly repetitive or imprecise, such as 'not too satisfied'. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of key technical terms related to the data provided.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as the comma splice in the first sentence ('While, the surveys...') and the incorrect use of 'the' before 'people's perception'. Additionally, there are minor punctuation issues, such as the missing space after the comma in 'approximately,3000'. The majority of your sentences are understandable, but more consistent control over complex structures and punctuation is needed to reach a higher band.
