Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the key features of the graphs and tables. You provided a clear overview and supported your main points with data from the charts. However, the report could be improved by ensuring the data is presented more accurately. For instance, you mention a 'significant increase' in fines, but the data shows a steady climb rather than a sudden spike. Additionally, the description of the survey results is a bit repetitive in structure. To reach a higher band, ensure that the relationship between the data points is clearly explained and that the overview highlights the most significant trends rather than just listing details.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs for the graphs and survey data. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore', 'On the other hand', and 'In spite of', which help the flow. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the referencing could be smoother. For example, the sentence 'In spite of fluctuation in middle years' is a fragment and lacks a clear connection to the previous sentence. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that every sentence is grammatically complete would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly. You use terms like 'marginal increase', 'fluctuation', and 'fatality' appropriately. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'fines from speed camera had a significant increase' (should be 'fines from speed cameras saw a significant increase') and 'rest for they do not know the purpose'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and ensure that your phrasing sounds more natural. The current range is adequate for the task but lacks the sophistication required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Issues include missing articles ('the 62% of people'), incorrect verb forms ('majority of people think... were installed'), and punctuation errors. For example, 'in the first six-year fines from speed camera had a significant increase' is grammatically awkward. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles to improve your accuracy.
