Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. Furthermore, the content is incomplete; you have ignored the survey data entirely and provided only a brief, superficial description of the graphs. The analysis lacks the necessary detail and overview required for an Academic Task 1 report. To improve, you must describe all parts of the prompt, including the tables, and ensure your response is of sufficient length to allow for a full development of the data trends.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction, and the information is presented in a fragmented manner. Paragraphing is not used effectively to separate the overview from the supporting details. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices like 'when' and 'however', the overall flow is disjointed. To improve, you should organize your report into clear paragraphs: an introduction, an overview of the main trends, and specific details for each data set, using a wider range of linking words to connect your ideas logically.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and contains several spelling errors, such as 'describ', 'abroxamately', 'rase', 'reduse', 'reson', and 'pepole'. The phrase 'people poket's' is informal and inappropriate for an academic report. You need to focus on using more precise vocabulary to describe data, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'trend'. Expanding your range of academic vocabulary and proofreading for basic spelling mistakes will help you achieve a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication, such as 'the number of accident is suitable at the same resultes' and 'the installation this devices'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the control over basic grammar, including subject-verb agreement and pluralization, is weak. To improve, focus on mastering simple sentence structures first, then gradually incorporate complex sentences using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions, while ensuring you check for basic errors in tense and number.
