Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have addressed all parts of the task by describing the trends in the graphs and the survey results. However, the report lacks a clear overview of the survey data, and some of the descriptions of the figures are inaccurate or confusing. For instance, stating that fatalities 'remain unchanged' at 3000 is a good observation, but the description of the survey results is fragmented and difficult to follow. To improve, ensure you group related data points logically and provide a clear summary of the most significant trends rather than listing percentages in a way that obscures the main findings.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression within them is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as the repetitive use of 'while' and 'about'. The transition between the graph data and the survey tables is abrupt. The final paragraph is particularly confusing, as it mentions 'the number of speed cameras' without clearly explaining what the percentages represent, making it difficult for the reader to follow your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus would significantly enhance the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'wide range of drivers' (when referring to the number of people) and 'escalate sharply and rise on about'. Additionally, there are spelling errors like 'beleive' and 'nu,ber'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise terminology for describing trends, such as 'fluctuate', 'plateau', or 'significant increase', and ensure that you are using collocations correctly in an academic context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include incorrect preposition usage ('rise on about'), subject-verb agreement errors ('people's beleive'), and punctuation mistakes. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper structure, such as 'The main reason for the installation of speed cameras to improve road safety about 26% people's beleive that'. You need to focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading to eliminate these persistent errors, which currently limit your ability to communicate complex information accurately.
