Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to cover both the graph and the tables, mentioning the overall upward trend in speed camera fines from 200,000 to 1,600,000 and the stable fatality figures between 3,000 and 3,500. It also outlines data points from the three survey tables regarding public opinion. However, the summary lacks a clear, well-developed overview, and the description of the data is somewhat fragmented and repetitive. Certain terms, such as '2lakh', reflect an inappropriate regional number style for an international academic report. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the lack of careful selection and synthesis of key features places this performance at Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into short, single-sentence paragraphs which fail to group related ideas effectively, resulting in a choppy structure. Cohesive devices are either missing, mechanical, or awkward (e.g., 'On the one hand', 'In briefly', 'Additionly', 'On the second statement', 'In third statement'). There is no clear overall progression; the transition from the graphs to the three separate survey tables feels disjointed. Paragraphing is not used appropriately to guide the reader through the data, reflecting typical characteristics of Band 4.5 to 5.0. Therefore, a score of 5.0 is appropriate.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The lexical range is quite limited and heavily repetitive. Words like 'fines', 'individuals', 'people', and 'agree' are used constantly without adequate variation. There are significant non-standard vocabulary choices and awkward collocations, such as 'the value of drivers who caught by cameras due to the over speed on road' and '2lakh'. Spelling and word formation errors, such as 'Additionly' instead of 'Additionally', further restrict the score. The vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey basic points, but frequent inaccuracies constrain it to Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on basic, faulty simple sentences. There are frequent, noticeable grammatical errors, including missing auxiliary verbs ('who caught by cameras', 'who killed in rod accident'), incorrect prepositions ('on road', 'in period of year 8'), and tense inconsistencies. Complex structures are attempted but are poorly controlled and inaccurate (e.g., 'There are only 8% people who dont know about that'). These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and align closely with the Band 4.5/5.0 criteria.
