Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is severely under-length, containing only 98 words against the required minimum of 150 words. Because the text cuts off mid-sentence ('Regarding the survey results, most people thought that speed cameras'), it fails to present a complete overview and omits discussion of the tables entirely. While the introduction correctly identifies the line graph and tables, the under-length penalty and incomplete task coverage restrict the band score to 4.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response attempts to organise information by introducing the graphs and providing an overall statement ('overall, the number of drivers...'). However, due to the abrupt stop in the second paragraph, paragraphing is incomplete and the logical progression of the report is cut short. Basic cohesive devices like 'In addition' and 'Moreover' are used, but the overall structure cannot be fully evaluated as an essay or report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student demonstrates a basic vocabulary range suitable for describing trends, such as 'increased considerable' (grammatical error aside) and 'fluctuated slightly'. There are notable spelling and word choice errors, including 'britain' (uncapitalized), 'appearing' instead of 'introduction', and 'number of killed people' rather than 'fatalities'. More advanced lexical items are missing, but the vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the fragment produced.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The text displays a limited range of simple and emerging complex structures. There are several noticeable grammatical errors, such as 'number of drivers in britain who were caught speeding as well as number of killed people' (missing articles and awkward phrasing), 'increased considerable' (incorrect adverb form), and 'number of people who killed on road accidents were fluctuated' (incorrect passive voice and subject-verb agreement). These frequent errors impede clarity.
