The graphs below show the number of drivers in Britain who have been caught driving too fast by speed cameras placed on roads, and the number of people killed in road accidents, over an eight-year period since the introduction of speed cameras. The tables show the results of a survey on people's opinions on speed cameras.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

The graphs illystrate the number of drivers in britain who were caught speeding by speed cameras and the number of people killed in road accidents over an eight - year period following the introduction of speed cameras. The tablle presents the results of surveys on people's opinions about speed cameras.

overall, the number of drivers caught speeding increased considerably throoughtout the period, whereas the number of road accident fatalities showed an overall decline. the surveys also indicate that most people believed speed cameras improve road safety, although the majority felt that there were too many cameras.

in the fiest year, approximately 200,000 drivers were caught speeding by speed cameras. this figure incresed gradually to around 400,000 in the fifth year before rising sharply to qabout 600,000 in the sixth year. it then climbed dramatically, reaching approximately 950,000 in the seventh year and 1.3 million in the final year. By contrast , the number of road accident fatalitied was around 3000 ub the3 first year and rose slightly to just over 3000 in the second year. after that , it dec;ined gradually, reaching approximately 2700 by the fifth year, before ramaining relatively stable until the end of the perood.
