The graphs below show the number of drivers in Britain who have been caught driving too fast by speed cameras placed on roads, and the number of people killed in road accidents, over an eight-year period since the introduction of speed cameras. The tables show the results of a survey on people's opinions on speed cameras.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

SPEED CAMERA FINES and ROAD ACCIDENT FATALITIES

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The provided graghs illustrate the number of drivers in Britain who have been caught driving too fast by speed cameras placed on roads, and the number of people killed in road accidents, overan eight-year perios since the introduction of speed cameras. The accompaying table illustrates the results of a survey on people's opinions on speed cameras.

Overall, the speed camera fines increase significantly, while the numbers of road accidents show flucuation in eight year period. On the other hand, the mostly people think reason for installation of speed cameras just to increase revenue.

In first year of installation, the speed cameras fined 200,000 of amount, which increase slowly and reach approximatley 600,000 money in 6th year, before climb up with modest rate to 1,600,000 in final year. The approximatley 3,000 of road accident happen in 1 year, these figure increase to 3,300 in 2 year. In 3 year, these figure remained same, after this they again come 3,000 in next year, before cosistent slow increase to 3,200 in 8th year.

In public prespective, the about 60% of people say the cameras did not reduce the road accidents and 32% think it can do that and remaining have no knowledge about it. On main reason why these cameras are installed, 71% persons say just increase the revenue , 26% beleive to improve the road safety. Adout number of cameras nobody know the exact digits, the 56% say too many, 19% few, 17% about right and some donot about it.
